Giada Ciccolini
A corpo libero
Grand studio
Street-side entrance at 200 quai de Valmy
35 min
from 1 year old
In A corpo libero, the only set is the body of Giada Ciccolini, actress and former gymnast. Alone on stage, she explores each part with curiosity and care, tests its possibilities, and seeks to make them dialogue.
The show also speaks about accepting one's own body as it is, with its imperfections, its transformations over time, and the marks left by life. Born of research conducted in daycares and preschools, this show was designed not only for toddlers, but also with them.
Production: La Baracca - Testoni Ragazzi
Conception, staging, and performance: Giada Ciccolini
Costumes and scenography: Alessandra Gabriela Baldoni and Giada Ciccolini
Artistic advice: Yves Thuwis (Newski Prospekt)
Collaboration in staging: Sara Lanzi
Special thanks to Tommaso Ruggero
Giada Ciccolini is an artist and researcher specializing in theater for early childhood, as well as a trained lighting technician. A former rhythmic gymnast, she began her theatrical training in middle school, then, from 2005 onwards, continued her training at Teatro Testoni Ragazzi. After training in lighting design at Accademia della Luce in Umbertide (Perugia - Italy), she completed an internship as a lighting technician at Teatro Testoni Ragazzi in 2008.
Developing concurrently as a technician and performer, she then became a member of the company La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi. She participated in the creation of numerous productions for children and teenagers under the direction of Valeria Frabetti, then Andrea Buzzetti. Her work for very young audiences led her on international tours, with performances in Cuba, Canada, Japan, China, South Korea, Rwanda, and Cameroon.
Since 2014, she has led theater workshops for toddlers and is the author, director, and performer of the solo show A corpo libero, developed with La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi, with artistic advice from Ives Thuwis and collaboration with Sara Lanzi. It was with this creation that Giada began her own artistic research journey.
