Book Club des Aliennes : « Poupées Roumaines » de Marie Khazrai

On stage, her foot breaks and her career stops, leaving her without a compass. Bad luck ? Destiny ? The crazy needle always points in the same direction : Romania, her mother's homeland. So, it's decided. She will make the trip with her to the farm where grandmother and aunt live. For six days, she will investigate. But in this village ravaged by communism, she is given the runaround. Poisoners, ogres, vampires : confidences turn into tales and a hundred years of Romanian history join the dance. Information on the association Les Aliennes :

Les Aliennes is a feminist and cultural association created in 2016. The association's mission is to change representations of women and gender minorities in society through culture. To that end, we organize feminist cultural events to celebrate the creation of women and these minorities but also to raise public awareness of gender equality through fun actions open to all audiences.
