Casse-Noisette de Blanca Li

For Blanca Li, the Russian soul has always resonated with Spanish flamboyance. It is therefore quite natural that she revives the timeless and popular story of The Nutcracker with her own tools: hip-hop, cross-cultural blends and a powerhouse troupe. She tames Tchaikovsky's musical masterpiece in an astonishing and urban re-orchestration. She brings it to life to the steps of eight dancers whose talent is nurtured both by their Hispanic cultural roots and by an Iberian hip-hop movement that has remained authentic and close to its New York, Caribbean or Californian origins.

Blanca Li is a choreographer who sets no boundaries of genre or style, and a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts. She was director of Teatros del Canal in Madrid from 2019 until December 2023.
