The concert opens with Richard Strauss's Don Juan, then Aurélien Pascal, invited for the first time by the Orchestre Pasdeloup, performs the magnificent and heroic Cello Concerto No. 1 by D. Chostakovitch. Wolfgang Doerner, a longtime friend of the orchestra, then conducts the overture to Romeo and Juliet by P. I. Tchaïkovski.
