Exposition collective, Théâtre des possibles - le masque dans tous ses états - Galerie Dix9

Whether it conceals, reveals, or metamorphoses, the mask possesses a singular power: that of making possible what reality does not allow. It is not merely a protection or an artifice, but a means to cross the boundaries of reality, to open other spaces of representation, and to bring forth other identities, other temporalities, other narratives. This exhibition brings together artists from diverse backgrounds to explore the mask "in all its forms", at the crossroads of two dimensions: Its physical and material states: through a plurality of mediums — sculpture, painting, photography, video, drawing, installation —, the mask unfolds in a diversity of forms and materials. Each work reinvents its plasticity and shifts its function. Its symbolic, social, and conceptual dimensions: beyond the object, what the mask enables is explored here. It can displace time, transform matter, reveal social structures, foster dialogue between cultures, give form to memory or mourning, and enable metamorphosis. Each work thus opens a realm of possibility of its own.
