FLORA HIBBERD - LA GAÎTÉ LYRIQUE

In the wake of her acclaimed album Swirl released in 2025, Flora Hibberd's new record, Mammoth, ventures even further into the uncanny.

Produced by Ben Lanz (The National, Beirut) between the mountains of the Basque Country and the Parisian suburbs, the album is inhabited by ghosts of prehistory haunting the present, while looking towards the future with an alert and wide-eyed gaze. The echoes of Lanz's trombones, the feverish guitars of his longtime collaborator Victor Claass, as well as whispers of familiar voices cascade down the hills of this record.

The swirling mists of Mammoth make it an album that is at once more energetically pop, more baroque, and even more unsettling than the one that preceded it.
