La Grâce de la Tortue

Tita is a little girl, then a woman filled with self-doubt but also rebellious, who seeks by all means to overcome her complexes and "un-complicate" herself. How do you find your place when you are born into a family from elsewhere, when you dream of being like everyone else and putting your origins "in the closet"? How do you negotiate with your differences and your identity...?

The show addresses questions about the relationship to identity, origins, self-construction, uprooting, and exile, difference, and female emancipation with great lightness of tone yet imbued with emotion... through an ordinary journey and a simple story that can resonate more collectively.

The show features a mother and her daughter, who are portrayed alongside a whole gallery of characters revealed to the audience's imagination through the eyes of the 2 others. Through the story of the mother and her daughter, it is the intimate relationship with origins that unfolds. Where do we come from? How does that shape us and affect us psychologically? How can one make peace with one's history?
