Le Médecin malgré lui

As so often, Molière, by attacking medicine, exposes quackery, mocks credulity... and criticizes a certain form of religion. And this is undoubtedly why Le Médecin malgré lui is one of his finest and richest farces.

Showing Man to Man and revealing just how eternal and laughable his flaws are, holding up a mirror to the spectator, touching them with laughter or emotion before living beings and – oh, genius of Molière – so contemporary, embodied characters rather than puppets, men and women, in the end, just as they are in all their humor and humanity.
