Le Voyage de Chihiro (Spirited Away)

Simple Music Ensemble World presents the best melodies from the famous Studio Ghibli animated film Le Voyage de Chihiro (in English, Spirited Away).

"Le Voyage de Chihiro" is a cult work by the great Japanese storyteller Hayao Miyazaki. It is the first film to have won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The film tells the story of a young girl who finds herself in a mysterious world and undergoes numerous trials to save her parents from the clutches of an evil witch.

Every Miyazaki film is a complete world in itself with its own rules, its own philosophy. The composer's enchanting themes have become inseparable from Miyazaki's artistic language, making Hisaishi the co-author of numerous masterpieces from the studio.

The composer writes the soundtrack not after the film's editing, but right from the beginning of production, starting from a brief description. Hisaishi draws upon a wide variety of styles in his works, ranging from orchestral melodies to Japanese electronic music of the eighties.

These melodies will transport our listeners into the magical world of Hayao Miyazaki, where evil is always stronger at first, but good always triumphs in the end.
