With Le Temps d’Écrire, his debut album as leader, drummer Louis Bao Lao brings to life a musical universe shaped by nearly 25 years alongside Ernesto Tito Puentes and by a multitude of artistic encounters and collaborations. Across nine original compositions and two standard arrangements, he weaves jazz open to world music, where Afro-Cuban rhythms dialogue with Brazilian sounds. From Petit Boléro, carried by the festive energy and warmth of Cuban tradition, to Song For Santos and Samba Là-Haut, celebrating the musical colors of Brazil, each track reveals a facet of his journey and influences.
