METIN & KEMAL KAHRAMAN

Metin and Kemal Kahraman are two brothers, musicians and ethnomusicologists of Turkish and Zaza origin (from Dersim/Tunceli), famous for co-founding Grup Yorum (for Metin) and for their work in preserving oral memory, folk tales, and traditional Alevi music in Zaza, Kurmanji, and Turkish languages. Born in a mountain village in Pülümür (Dersim), they grew up between Erzincan and Dersim, immersing themselves in local biculturalism and languages.
