On the agenda
Thought in resonance with the exhibition Metamorphoses, the hats of Maison Michel, MOIRE explores the spinning, repetition and forms that these movements give rise to. Present in many dances and ritual practices, especially in the Sufi tradition of turning dervishes, the circular movement can modify the experience of time and open to other states of consciousness.
The Ana Elena Tejera whirling dialogues with live music, made of patterns, pulsations and repetitions. MOIRE questions what covers, protects, reveals and transforms the body, like the hat: it moves the silhouette, prolongs the gestures and makes new presences appear.
Between movement, sound and matter, performance composes a body in permanent transformation. Appearances, circulations and disappearances follow one another, drawing the steps of a metamorphosis.
