The instrumental rock band MONO, originally from Tokyo, Japan, was formed in 1999. From its beginnings, it is distinguished by a singular approach mixing rock and classical music, a style hailed throughout the world as an intensely emotional musical form. Their music touches deeply, bringing out images and feelings buried in the heart of the listener: joy and sadness, light and shadow, life and death. As the British magazine NME once wrote, “Music for the Gods.”

During its first decade, MONO quickly established itself, thanks in part to its stage performances. With annual tours of nearly 150 concerts in more than 60 countries, the band has won over both critics and audiences. The euphoric intensity and dynamic power of their concerts today earn them the reputation of being one of the best live bands in the world.
