Omri Mor, Mehdi Nassouli & Karim Ziad

Together, they weave a vibrant dialogue between contemporary jazz, Arab-Andalusian music and Gnawa tradition. Virtuoso spotted by Avishai Cohen, Omri Mor deploys a piano of great freedom, nourished by classical and oriental influences. Karim Ziad, a key figure in the jazz and Maghreb scenes, breathes a unique rhythmic energy, while Mehdi Nassouli, singer and guembri player, resonates all the spiritual force of the Gnawa heritage. Their project Assala (“authenticity” in Arabic) is an invitation to travel, where improvisation, trance, poetry and virtuosity come together.
