Ophélie Gaillard : Hommage à Pablo Casals

Already 150 years that was born Pablo Casals in the small Catalan village of El Vendrell. A unique destiny: that of a humanist faithful to his convictions, generous and uncompromising.

A lifetime dedicated to music, transmission and love of the cello, despite the pain of exile and the disaster of wars.

More than a tribute, this evening is a celebration bringing together four generations of cellists around the same ideal: to make music an act of inner resistance.

The program affirms a deep conviction: music can open a path of resilience, say no to violence without raising the tone, choosing depth, beauty and mutual listening.

Placed under the aegis of Association Suisse du Violoncelle and Association Française du Violoncelle, and sponsored by Ophélie Gaillard, this evening extends the spirit of the album Prayers, presented to build, through music, a space of peace faithful to the thought of Pablo Casals:
