The Chicago trio Pixel Grip is not so much here to lull our algorithm-numbed ears as to explore the shadow zones situated between upfront EBM and darkwave hemispheres. With staggering energy and something a touch clownish, somewhere between Lady Gaga and Peaches who listened to too much DJ Hell, the music concocted by Rita Lukea feels like a call to oblique dissidence against good taste and all other forms of alienation.
