Since 1902, Pompes Funèbres Bémot has been watching over the deceased of a small rural town. At the head of the family business, Christine Bémot tries to maintain tradition with the help of her faithful employee Jean Creulice.

But the arrival of an intern and the unexpected funeral of a huge star of French chanson turn their daily routine upside down.
