REPRENONS

The show extends the research cycle initiated with Dialogue avec ce qui se passe, exploring how theatre can bring into play our experience of time.

Here, the starting point is repetition. In theatre, this word carries two meanings: that of the preparatory work preceding performance, and that of the revival of the show itself, replayed evening after evening. Reprenons is situated right where these two meanings meet.

To achieve this, Adrien Béal and Arthur Igual revisit an earlier show by the company, Il est trop tôt pour prendre des décisions définitives, created in 2011. Fifteen years later, with neither video recording nor written record remaining, this solo becomes the starting point for a new exploration. It is neither a literal revival nor a recreation, but a work that traverses this uncertain archive to turn it into experiential ground.

Nourished in particular by reading Søren Kierkegaard's Repetition, the research investigates repetition as forward movement: how can repeating what took place become preparation for a moment to come? How can repetition carry within itself something new?

In a spirit of a laboratory shared with the audience, fiction then becomes a pretext to explore, together, ways of thinking about time in the present.
