🚀 THE YOUTH PLAY (22:00)

(Post punk – London, UK)

The Youth Play is a Mexican-British band drawing inspiration from a wide range of styles, from grunge and shoegaze to blues and dream pop.

Diego, the lead singer, is from Mexico City and was formerly an environmental science researcher. He met the other band members when he moved to the UK to focus on music, convinced he could make a bigger impact on the world through his poetry and art. Their latest EP explores how people strive to find joy in moments of despair and heartbreak, with lyrics addressing the migrant experience, the climate crisis, and political injustices.

Following a European tour with Been Stellar and several UK tours alongside bands such as Wings of Desire and The Wytches, they have already captured the attention of tastemakers and respected artists, including members of Primal Scream, Jimmy Eat World, and Skunk Anansie. With new music slated for 2026, they continue to push the boundaries of their sonic universe, proving British music is at its best when bold and functioning as a catalyst for change.
